WEST BROOKLYN – A tornado that swept through the Lee County community of West Brooklyn was one of more than a dozen that crossed north central Illinois on Friday. The National Weather Service reports that they estimate an EF-1 twister struck the town, destroying one building and damaging a few others, uprooting trees and toppling a radio tower. Another tornado was said to have been stronger, an EF-2 near Amboy, which toppled structures at Woodhaven Lakes. A tornado was also said to be the cause of a roof collapse at a concert venue in Belvidere that took the life of an individual.
