DEPUE – A fire Sunday night in Depue brought five area fire departments into the community to battle the blaze. Crews were called around 9:30 PM to the 300 block of Lake Street for a fire that originated in the living area of the two story home. According to Depue Fire Chief Josef Vasquez they were assisted by Spring Valley, Ladd, Peru, Bureau and Princeton Fire Departments. Officials remained on scene for about 90 minutes. Smoke damage occurred throughout the residence, according to Vasquez. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
