The LaSalle Instructional Softball League held their first instructional tournament over the weekend with the goal to give this age an experience of what’s to come as they move up in leagues and start to have tournaments and all stars.

The tournament had five local teams compete, Mendota Gold, Mendota Purple, LaSalle Machinery Maintenance, LaSalle Twisty Freeze, and Princeton.

LaSalle Machinery Maintenance defeated Mendota gold for third place.  LaSalle Twisty Freeze and Mendota Gold competed for spots one and two.  Twisty took the win after coming from behind by three runs to win.“We are so excited to start this new annual tradition for our District 20 softball instructional league. We look forward to growing this tournament next year. It was so well received by all the teams, coaches, players, and fans. The experience is great for this age to get exposed to what’s to come as they continue their softball careers moving up to minor league.” LaSalle Little League Softball President, Tricia Mudge.
