STREATOR – Three dogs were rescued in a house fire in Streator Tuesday morning. According to the Streator Fire Department, they were called after 5 a.m. to the 200 block of Joyce Street for a fire on the exterior of the home. Firefighters found no human occupants, but found three dogs in the bathroom. The dogs were removed from the home uninjured and the fire was controlled in less than five minutes. Firefighters remained on the scene for nearly three hours ensuring the fire was extinguished. An air condition unit was involved in the fire, however the cause remains under investigation by the Streator Fire Department, the Streator Police Department and the Office for the Illinois State Fire Marshal.
