STREATOR – A Streator man is in critical condition after being run over by a train. The LaSalle County Sherriff’s Office identied the victim as 48-year-old Larry L. Rizzo. The incident occured Monday, near Frech Street on tracks owned by Norfolk Southern Railroad. The train engineer told deputies he observed a man lying inside the rails of the track and attempted to stop the train but was unable to do so. Rizzo was taken by ambulance to an awaiting helicopter and transported to a Peoria hospital, where he is reportedly in critical condition.
