ORLANDO – The school resource officer who exchanged gunfire with a teen near Dixon High School has been recognized at an awards banquet in Florida. Saturday night in Orlando Dixon Police Officer Mark Dallas was named the International Association Chiefs of Police “Officer of the Year”. Last May Dallas shot and apprehended 19-year-old Matthew Milby after he allegedly fired a weapon during a graduation ceremony rehearsal in the school gym. Milby remains in the Lee County Jail awaiting trial.
