MENDOTA – A joint Tri-County Drug Enforcement Team and Mendota Police Department investigation into drug sales has led to the arrest of a Mendota woman. On Wednesday, according to authorities, they took 42-year-old Mercedes Hermosillo into custody on a warrant for unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, a class 2 felony. She was taken to the LaSalle County Jail with bond set at $1,000,000. Mendota Police noted that the city has experienced a number of drug related deaths this year, and many overdoses as a result of illegal narcotics use and distribution. They urge anyone with any information on persons distributing narcotics to let law enforcement know.
