STREATOR – Residents of Streator will be able to receive text alerts in the event of an emergency. According to Streator’s Fire Department, the city along with Vermillion Valley Dispatch is asking residents to subscribe to local text alerts through Nixle. Streator has partnered with Nixle to implement a community notification system to alert residents in real-time for localized emergency situations and relevant community advisories.
