NAPLATE – Multiple area ambulance crews arrived at the LaSalle County Nursing Home on Dee Bennett Road once the decision was made late Wednesday to evacuate the facility. In a statement, the nursing home thanked those who helped move everyone as comfortably as possible. OSF St. Elizabeth provided transport buses, and Grand Ridge Fire, Utica Fire, Marseilles Ambulance, Peru Ambulance, Wallace Fire and the Ottawa Fire Departments were all active in relocating the residents to other facilities. The Nursing Home is located on the banks of the Illinois River between Naplate and Utica, whose waters are set to rise to near record levels on Thursday afternoon
