MENDOTA – Two annual ordinances were passed in Mendota. At Monday nights city council meeting, a prevailing wage ordinance and annual appropriations ordinances were passed. According to City Clerk Emily McConville, the prevailing wage ordinance is a state mandate providing a list of hourly wages of laborers in LaSalle County that should be paid that amount if hired by the city. Finance chairman John Holland says the appropriations ordinance is funds required for the city to run for the next year based on budgets and history.
