STREATOR – The Streator Police Department is reminding citizens not to fall for scams. On Thursday, a complainant reported receiving a call from an individual claiming to be from the IRS, attempting to elicit a social security number. This is the third reported phone call scam this month where someone is attempting to obtain a resident’s social security number. Police say no matter what, do not give out your personal information.
