STREATOR – Streator’s city council is proposing to reach out to legislators regarding road improvements. With the new gas tax in effect that was proposed to repair the state’s infrastructure, councilmen Ed Brozak believes it is time to let representatives know what Streator needs. All of Route 17 and 18 going east towards Blackstone were just some of the high truck traffic roads mentioned that need repaving. Brozak stated he has a letter prepared for the council to sign at their next city council meeting on Wednesday. So far, the state has notified Streator that Route 18 west of the city will be repaved sometime over the summer.
