MENDOTA – Residents looking to learn more about Mendota’s Illinois Avenue Beautification project can do so this weekend. From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday the Illinois Avenue committee will be holding a free block party to bring more awareness to residents on the streets potential.
Mayor Boelk says the city will begin prepping for the beautification project this Fall with underground infrastructure and major facade work done next Spring. The $350,000 project will be financed through TIF funds.
