PERU – Councilmen discussed the proposed Peru police building at Monday night’s city council meeting. Representatives from Basalay, Cary & Alstadt, Architects in Ottawa and MWL Architects explained that they were finalizing pre-design plans for the proposed building. Officials say the building will be around 25,000 to 30,000 square feet in addition to a garage that will fit around 15 patrol cars, however the planning is still in preliminary stages. Mayor Scott Harl expresses his approval for the project, saying that it was long overdue as the last remodel of the current police station was in 1967.
