Streator City Council to discuss facade grant recommendation

 
STREATOR – Streator’s commission is referring two facade grant applications to city council to discuss. Streator’s plan commission recommends that council look into facade grants of $15,000 each for a property owner of 125 and 127 South Park Street.  City Engineer Jeremy Palm says the Fiscal Year 2019 budget for the grants has been expended and council will decide how to move forward. The property owner wishes to use the money to upgrade windows, awnings and lighting. The proposed work is considered an eligible cost under the program due to plans of a pre-1950s look, consistent with the building.
