MENDOTA- The 2nd Ward Alderman in Mendota has passed away. John W. Pierson was 79.
City Clerk Emily McConville said “Having worked together so long, you get to know a person pretty well. John loved his family and was very proud of his daughter and granddaughters. He was very dedicated to the city. This is a great loss for the city.”
He was most recently elected back to the council in 2013 after serving other terms beginning in 1995. Pierson was the chair of the Building and Zoning committee and vice-chair of Public Safety and a liaison for the Civic Center.
