STREATOR – Streator’s city council will be implementing a cannabis sales tax. Last month, the council amended its zoning code to allow recreational retailers to operate in certain commercial districts. If approved, a 3% tax will be passed after Wednesday’s city council meeting. Council is also expected to grant a special use permit to John and Joe’s Floral for a medical cannabis grow house. The project will entail a new 16,000 square foot facility to the south of the existing greenhouse, that will be operated by relatives of the Bodznick family, cultivators, Lllerem LLC.
