DIXON – Questions were raised to the Lee County Unified Leadership Team regarding the Unacast social distancing scoreboard grade of F for the county. They say the grade is not related to staying at home, but whether or not people are staying at least 6 feet apart from one another. Officials explained that if a person drives to work in Rochelle, this does not impact the grade at all, however, if a person at work in Lee County stands around the coffee pot with three co-workers and they are less than 6 feet apart, this negatively impacts the score.
The company measuring this data is acquiring the information from cell phones. Unacast says no personal information is being gathered, however, mapping can show the holders exact location and if they are within 6 feet of another phone.
