SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health confirmed 1,076 new cases of COVID-19, along with 30 additional deaths. Since the start of the pandemic, the IDPH has reported a total of 173,731 cases, with 7,446 deaths. Illinois’s daily case count has stayed around 1,000 since mid July. Yesterday Gov. JB Pritzker said that he anticipates that residents will have to continue dealing with coronavirus until 2021. He also emphasized the importance of social distancing and face masks in keeping COVID-19 under control.
