IDPH reports almost 2,000 new COVID-19 cases

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 28 additional COVID-19 deaths, along with 1,953 new cases. The IDPH has processed 48,982 specimens in the last 24, for a 3.98% positivity rate. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the state has seen 255,643 cases in total, along with 8,242 deaths.
