OGLESBY – A starter course at Illinois Valley Community College will help those who need an introduction on how to use a personal computer. IVCC’s Continuing Education Office will offer “Computer Basics” from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, Oct. 1 through 22. Students will learn basic skills for using Windows 10 including the features of My Computer, Recycle Bin, customizing the desktop, running multiple programs and using shortcuts. Installing programs, checking the hard disk drive, deleting and restoring files and changing mouse settings will also be covered. Instructor Doreen Balzarini will use plain language and hands-on demonstrations along with practice and individual help for students. Cost is $129 and a textbook is required.
