STREATOR – Streator Township High School students will be going back to the classroom for the 2021-2022 school year, but will have their days cut short. Streator Township High School’s Board of Education voted in favor of early dismissal of 12:50 p.m. with no e-learning days. According to the school board’s COVID-19 transition team, students will be served lunch on their way out of school and will not have a study hall to further prevent the spread of the virus. Future discussion will continue on how to go about testing students and athletes routinely, utilizing the free SHIELD Illinois saliva-based test. As per Governor J.B. Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Public Health’s mandate, all students and staff will wear masks regardless of vaccination status.
