OTTAWA – Allen Park in Ottawa will be getting some long-awaited attention from the city. On Tuesday night the city council agreed to a quote of over $197,000 for various improvements to the park located on the southside of the Illinois River. Council members agreed that Allen Park has been left in disrepair for years, namely the seawall along the river that has begun to collapse. Mayor Daniel Aussem says the particular contractor is planning on using recycled concrete to fix the erosion along the riverfront.
