PEORIA – A survey taking opinions from residents about potential passenger rail use across the area has been put out by the Illinois Department of Transportation. The survey will be used by IDOT and local leaders to assess the viability of new passenger rail service that would run from the south suburbs across North Central Illinois before reaching Peoria. One of the questions in the survey asks if residents would be likely to ride an Amtrak train if stops were made in LaSalle/Peru, Ottawa or Morris.
