PAW PAW – A woman who was reported missing has been found deceased in rural Lee County. On Monday, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to rural Paw Paw for a report of a missing 37-year-old.
A search began in the area with deputies and drone operators from Lee County Emergency Management, Bureau County Emergency Management, and the Amboy Fire Department. The following day the search was expanded in the daylight to include the Lee County Volunteer Core Search and Rescue Team, Amboy Police Department, Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office, Paw Paw Fire Department, Compton Fire Department, and the Shabbona Fire Department.
Authorities say around 10:30 AM on Tuesday searchers located 37-year-old Nicole Bruno in a rural creek embankment, deceased. The matter is still under investigation by the Lee County Coroner’s Office and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
