OTTAWA – Ottawa officials revealed the comprehensive plan for the city which includes the development of downtown, the riverfront, and residential areas. Teska Associates Official Mike Hoffman introduced the city’s plan at Tuesday’s city council meeting.
Some big takeaways from the presentation include plans for an outdoor performance stage and amphitheater at Riverfront Park. Plans also include developing the Norris Drive (Route 6) corridor with residential, retail, and industrial buildings. I -80/ IL Route 71 Interchange recommendations include extending a bike trail to link with the I&M Canal Trail and other areas of Ottawa.
Mayor Dan Aussem said he’s content with the updated plan that is said to cost the city $5 million less. The total cost of projects within the plan is estimated at up to $14 million.
