RUTLAND – A fire in Rutland on Friday is likely an arson, according to authorities. Around 5 AM the Toluca-Rutland fire department were called to the 100 block of SW Front Street for a fully involved commercial building. A mutual aid box alarm was sounded and fifteen fire departments responded, including Streator, along with multiple ambulances and law enforcement personal. According to Toluca-Rutland Fire Chief Jason Faw, one firefighter was treated and released for a minor injury. The State Fire Marshall and LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office are currently investigating the fire as an arson.
