Fire at Mall Prompts Evacuation

PERU – Sunday afternoon Peru, LaSalle, and Spring Valley Fire Departments were called to the Peru Mall for what reportedly was a fire in the ceiling.   The building was evacuated of employees and customers and crews quickly extinguished the fire.  Smoke was observed coming out of doors on the east side of the complex.   No injuries were reported and the fire remains under investigation.
