PERU – It was all smiles as Peru officials took part in a ceremonial groundbreaking for the new Peru Public Safety Complex. The project, which will take around a year to complete is promised to cost less that $16 million dollars.
“This is the place where wanted to be so we can serve the north, south, east and west sides of Peru” said Mayor Scott Harl.
Peru Police Chief Doug Bernabei said the day was a historic one for the community, allowing future generations of law enforcement officers to use a modern facility.
“We’re going to have a state of the art facility, that’s going to make our officers safer, and allow them to be even better at their job, all without raising taxes on residents” said Chief Bernabie Thursday.
