OGLESBY – Around 75 students gathered in the center courtyard at IVCC to come together to talk about gun violence on campus and to honor those lives lost last month in Parkland Florida. Illinois Valley Community College student Kellsie Edgecomb helped organize the walk out with other student led groups Thursday. Students held signs with the names of those killed on Valentines Day at Marjory Stoneman Douglas school and asked those in attendance to think about the culture of guns and how they can make an impact. The event, which was not officially sponsored by the college, took place at noon and lasted about twenty minutes.
