LASALLE – Multiple agencies were involved in the arrest on July 1st of a LaSalle man on drug charges. Agents from the LaSalle and Peru Police Departments, plus the Tri County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Investigation assisted in the investigation into alleged cocaine sales in Peru. During the investigation into purported methamphetamine and cocaine sales this spring, a warrant was secured for 40 year-old Larry A. Chandler. He was taken to the LaSalle County Jail and is being held on $500,000 bond.
Peru Police Chief Bernabei stated, “This undercover investigation and series of arrests will again demonstrate that City of Peru officials and the members of the police department simply will not tolerate illegal narcotics trafficking in our city. The Peru Police Department will be forever vigilant and relentless in our commitment to keep our community safe.”
