PERU – A shared location for Lasalle, Peru and Oglesby police was decided on in a committee meeting, Tuesday. The tri-cities plan to build a station where all 3 police departments will work out of. Four locations were once proposed as possible stations and today the committee made a motion to vote on the Peru location, behind the CVS on shooting park road, and 251. The city of Peru believes this location is optimal, while officials from LaSalle and Oglesby were weary on making a solid decision. Mayor Jeff Grove believes the location could be a big impact with the community. A shared police station will be announced officially next month.
