LASALLE – After much anticipation, the city of LaSalle will soon be able to finance an over 100 acre expansion of Rotary Park. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources announced that the $400,000 grant will go towards the Rotary Park Expansion project. Economic Development Director Katheryn Koyak says 143 acres of undeveloped land will be accessed, including the 15 acre Prairie Lake via a nearly mile long ADA compliant walking path. Other plans include a pollinator garden, an ADA compliant fishing pier and an 18-hole disc golf course. Koyak says once completed, Rotary Park will be like no other park in the area. The $800,000 expansion would bring the park to 194 acres total.
