DIXON – A Lee County Sheriff’s Office Corporal has been nominated for Deputy of the Year by the Illinois Sheriffs’ Association. Last September, Corporal Dustin Seeley assisted the Dixon Police Department with a call involving a female subject standing on the sidewalk of a bridge over the Rock River. He spoke with the woman and determined she was contemplating suicide. Through his actions, he was able to convince her to accompany him to an area hospital to speak with a mental health professional.
