OTTAWA — Former state representative Frank Mautino has officially been sworn in as the new Illinois Auditor General. Mautino was sworn in during a ceremony last night at the La Salle County courthouse in downtown Ottawa, in front of a crowd mixed with family, friends, and former and current government officials. Mautino spoke before he was sworn in, saying he very honored to be in his new position, but will “miss serving the local people the most.” Mautino was the representative of the 76th district, serving portions of La Salle, Bureau and Putnam Counties since the early 1990s. He begins his new position on January 1st.
