MENDOTA – The Regional Office of Education #35 and the Mendota Area YMCA have established a partnership to create and promote educational programs for Mendota. Funds will be directed toward offering 30 free family or youth memberships and also be used for educational materials for the Mendota YMCA After School Program. Additionally, the two organizations will work together to create and promote additional programs such as tutoring services and further educational programs of the Fine Arts. Having received a federal partnership grant for education, ROE 35 is partnering not only with the Mendota YMCA, but also YMCAs in Peru, Ottawa, and Streator.
