DIXON – The replacement for the Lee County Jail is being built and according to officials coming in ahead of schedule and under budget.
The new Law Enforcement Center is projected to be completed in early fall, three months ahead of schedule and nearly 5% under budget. Sheriff John Simonton said this complex project has been a major undertaking. Originally slated to be adjacent to the new court building in Dixon, the facility was moved to Progress Drive next to the Reagan Transit Center.
