MENDOTA- The Mendota City Council chose a new Police Chief at the Monday night meeting. It was announced that Lt. Greg Kellen will be the new head of the department beginning next month. Current Chief Thomas L. Smith is ending his 21 year career as head of the force and retiring in February of 2019.
