UNDATED – State Senator Sue Rezin is expressing her displeasure with a criminal justice reform bill and tells Illinoisans it’s not too late to speak out. House Bill 3653 includes ending cash bail, requiring all police officers to wear body cameras by 2025, and allow officers to be punished or fired based on anonymous complaints from the public.
The bill passed in the General Assembly’s lame-duck session on January 13th. Earlier this week Sen Rezin. discussed the bill with the Illinois Sheriff’s Association regarding their concerns.
