STREATOR – Streator’s downtown businesses will host their annual trick-or-treat event this weekend. Trick-or-treaters can roam the business district and stop by nearly 50 participating businesses for goodies on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Event coordinator Toni Petit says participating businesses will display a fluorescent colored pumpkin in their window or on their door. Businesses on North Bloomington Street and North and South Vermillion will also be offering sweet treats to kids. The “Keeping Christmas Close to Home” committee will host pumpkin bowling on Monroe Street. Monroe will be closed to through traffic from Main Street north to the alley behind the post office. OSF’s Care-A-Van and LaSalle County Health Department will also make an appearance.
