OTTAWA – Working to improve the health and wellbeing of area residents, State Rep. Lance Yednock, D-Ottawa, will be offering free Community Health Fairs with OSF Healthcare St. Elizabeth to provide various services and screenings to area residents.
“I am fighting to make health care more accessible for my community, and I am honored to be working with community leaders to offer critical services,” Yednock said. “It seems that health care costs are always rising, so I cannot stress enough for residents to participate in both of my upcoming fairs.”
Yednock will be working with OSF Healthcare St. Elizabeth to offer two free Community Health Fairs over the coming months. At these events, residents will be have access to blood pressure screenings, insight on best practices for healthy living and a host of activities for local families.
Residents are encouraged to attend both of the events:
Community Health Fair Sat., Sept. 28 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Jordan Block, Ottawa During the Scarecrow Festival |
Community Health Fair Sat., Oct. 26 9 a.m. – Noon Downtown Streator During the Trick-or-Treat Festival |
“Nobody should take their health for granted when various activities and screenings are at no cost to them,” Yednock said. “A regular checkup will better prepare people for their short and long-term health care needs.”
